Ein galaktisches Fest für Star Trek-Fans Phaser auf Fun

Als eingefleischter Star Trek-Fan war die FedCon 33 im Maritim Hotel Bonn für mich ein absolutes Muss. Mit Phaser auf „Spaß“ gestellt und meiner Sternenflotten-Uniform (okay, vielleicht war’s nur ein TNG-T-Shirt) stürzte ich mich in dieses bunte, intergalaktische Abenteuer. Die Convention, die vom 30. Mai bis 1. Juni 2025 stattfand, war ein Fest der Toleranz, Vielfalt und purer Begeisterung – ein Ort, wo Jung und Alt, Klingonen und Vulkanier, Fans und Stars in Harmonie zusammenkamen. Und glaubt mir, das war ein Erlebnis, das selbst Captain Kirk neidisch gemacht hätte!
Ein bunter Mix aus Stars und Fans
Die Gästeliste war ein echter Warp-Antrieb: Von Star Trek-Legenden wie Jonathan Frakes, Robert O’Reilly und J.G. Hertzler bis zu Sci-Fi-Größen wie Richard Dean Anderson (Stargate), Michael Shanks (Stargate), Tawny Newsome (Lower Decks) und Ed Speleers (Star Trek: Picard) war alles dabei. Dazu gesellten sich Jamie Bamber (Battlestar Galactica), Lexa Doig (Andromeda), Peyton List (Star Trek Picard), Sam J. Jones (Flash Gordon) und viele mehr – ein Line-up, das so vielfältig war wie die Crew der Enterprise. Internationaler Flair? Check! Fans aus aller Welt, Cosplayer in detailverliebten Kostümen und Stars, die mit ihrer Nähe zu den Fans glänzten, machten die Atmosphäre unvergesslich.
Freitag: Ein fulminanter Start mit Kobayashi Maru
Der erste Tag begann mit einem Paukenschlag: Die Eröffnungszeremonie präsentierte den Teaser-Trailer des Fan-Films „Kobayashi Maru“ aus der Schmiede von Regisseur Rene von Bodisco. Und was für ein Trailer! Mit Friedrich G. Beckhaus, dem letzten lebenden Schauspieler von Raumpatrouille Orion, und deutschen Synchronstimmen wie Anke Reitzenstein (die Stimme von Seven of Nine) oder der aktuellen Spock-Stimme aus Strange New Worlds war das ein Volltreffer. Die Menge tobte, und ich gebe zu, ich hatte Gänsehaut, als die epischen Klänge und vertrauten Stimmen durch den Saal schallten. Das war nicht nur ein Fan-Film, das war eine Liebeserklärung an die Sci-Fi-Welt!
Cosplay, Autogramme und Sonnenschein
Freitag und Samstag standen ganz im Zeichen der Fans. Überall wimmelte es von kreativen Cosplayern – von klingonischen Kriegern über Borg-Drohnen bis hin zu perfekt nachgebildeten Lower Decks-Charakteren. Ich hab wie verrückt Fotos geschossen und sie direkt in die sozialen Medien geballert, um die Welt an diesem Spektakel teilhaben zu lassen. Die Stimmung? Elektrisierend! Trotz warmer Temperaturen (der Sommer meinte es gut) standen die Fans geduldig in langen Schlangen für Autogramme oder Fotoshoots mit ihren Idolen. Ich selbst hab mir ein Autogramm von Michelle Hurd (Picard) gesichert und ein Selfie mit einem grandiosen Data-Cosplayer – Mission erfüllt!
Das Highlight: Jonathan Frakes stiehlt die Show
Das absolute Highlight der FedCon war für mich das Panel mit Jonathan Frakes. Der Mann ist einfach eine Naturgewalt! Als Riker in The Next Generation war er schon ein Frauenschwarm, aber als Entertainer ist er unschlagbar. Mitten im Panel zog er sein Handy raus und rief – haltet euch fest – Brent Spiner (Data) per Videoanruf an. Um 6 Uhr morgens kalifornischer Zeit! Die Menge brach in Gelächter aus, als ein verschlafener Spiner ins Bild kam, während Frakes ihn liebevoll aufzog. Aber es wurde noch besser: Frakes sang mit den Fans, setzte sich mitten ins Publikum und plauderte, als wären wir alle alte Kumpels aus dem Zehn Vorne. Der Mann weiß, wie man eine Convention rockt, und hat bewiesen, warum er nicht nur Schauspieler, sondern auch ein begnadeter Regisseur und Moderator ist.
Was macht die FedCon so besonders?
Es ist diese unglaubliche Atmosphäre, die die FedCon ausmacht. Hier treffen Fans aus aller Welt aufeinander, vereint durch ihre Liebe zu Star Trek und Sci-Fi. Es gibt keinen Platz für Streit oder Intoleranz – nur pure Freude, gemeinsame Interessen und den Respekt vor der Vielfalt. Ob du 16 oder 60 bist, ob du als Vulkanier oder in Jeans kommst, hier bist du willkommen. Die Stars tragen ihren Teil dazu bei, indem sie nahbar sind und die Fans ins Zentrum stellen. Und wenn dann noch so ein genialer Fan-Film wie „Kobayashi Maru“ oder ein spontaner Frakes-Moment dazukommt, ist das einfach der Warp-Kern einer perfekten Convention.
Fazit: Ein Wochenende im Sternenhimmel
Die FedCon 33 war für mich als Star Trek-Fan ein Wochenende voller Highlights, neuer Freundschaften und unvergesslicher Momente. Vom mitreißenden Trailer über die bunten Cosplays bis hin zu Jonathan Frakes’ legendärem Panel – es war, als würde man für drei Tage auf der Enterprise mitfliegen. Wenn du Sci-Fi liebst, dann setz die FedCon auf deine Sternenkarte. Ich bin nächstes Jahr definitiv wieder dabei – vielleicht sogar in einem selbstgemachten Tricorder-Kostüm.

Friday: A Stellar Kickoff with Kobayashi Maru
Day one started with a bang: The opening ceremony unveiled the teaser trailer for the fan film "Kobayashi Maru," crafted by director Rene von Bodisco. And what a trailer it was! Featuring Friedrich G. Beckhaus, the last living actor from Raumpatrouille Orion, and German dubbing voices like Anke Reitzenstein (the voice of Seven of Nine) or the current Spock voice from Strange New Worlds, it was a home run. The crowd went wild, and I’ll admit, I got chills as the epic music and familiar voices filled the room. This wasn’t just a fan film; it was a love letter to the sci-fi universe!
Cosplay, Autographs, and Sunshine
Friday and Saturday were all about the fans. The place was buzzing with creative cosplayers—Klingon warriors, Borg drones, and spot-on Lower Decks characters. I snapped photos like crazy and shared them on social media to let the world in on the spectacle. The vibe? Electric! Despite warm temperatures (summer was in full swing), fans patiently lined up for autographs or photo shoots with their idols. I snagged an autograph from Michelle Hurd (Picard) and a selfie with an awesome Data cosplayer—mission accomplished!
The Highlight: Jonathan Frakes Steals the Show
The absolute highlight of FedCon was Jonathan Frakes’ panel. The man is a force of nature! As Riker in The Next Generation, he was already a heartthrob, but as an entertainer, he’s unbeatable. Mid-panel, he whipped out his phone and video-called—get this—Brent Spiner (Data) at 6 a.m. California time! The crowd roared with laughter as a groggy Spiner appeared on screen, with Frakes playfully ribbing him. But it got even better: Frakes sang with the fans, plopped down in the audience, and chatted like we were all old pals from Ten Forward. The guy knows how to rock a convention and proved why he’s not just an actor but a brilliant director and host.
What Makes FedCon So Special?
It’s the incredible atmosphere that sets FedCon apart. Fans from all over the world come together, united by their love for Star Trek and sci-fi. There’s no room for conflict or intolerance—just pure joy, shared passions, and respect for diversity. Whether you’re 16 or 60, rocking Vulcan ears or jeans, you’re welcome here. The stars play their part by being approachable and putting fans first. Add in a brilliant fan film like "Kobayashi Maru" or a spontaneous Frakes moment, and you’ve got the warp core of a perfect convention.
Wrap-Up: A Weekend Among the Stars
FedCon 33 was a weekend of highlights, new friendships, and unforgettable moments for this Star Trek fan. From the gripping trailer to the vibrant cosplays and Jonathan Frakes’ legendary panel, it felt like hitching a ride on the Enterprise for three days. If you love sci-fi, put FedCon on your star chart. I’ll definitely be back next year—maybe even with a homemade tricorder costume.
